2017 Koojan Hills Bulls Sale

This year the Koojan Hills Angus and Melaleuca Murray Grey bull sales will be combined on the 20th February 2017 and hosted by the Metcalfe family at their Manypeaks sale complex. The day will commence at 1pm with the offering of 65 Koojan Hills Angus bulls which will be immediately followed by the draft of 42 Melaleuca Murray Grey bulls.

All the Koojan Hills Angus bulls have undertaken the Zoetis 5 Star health program and they have all been successfully semen tested and physically examined for breeding soundness. All the bulls are free by inheritance or tested free of the four known genetic abnormalities; AM, CA, NH and DD.

All bulls sold at the sale will be personally delivered free of charge anywhere within the South West Land Division, up to a 1000km radius of Manypeaks.  

This years Koojan Hills Angus bulls are the product of previous owner Lew Smit’s breeding decisions. The principal AI sires represented are Ardrossan Honour H255, Lawsons Novak E313, Matauri Reality 839 and Milwillah Gatsby G279. These bulls are heavily represented in many sale catalogues around the country.

The exciting thing about the Koojan Hills offering is the younger bulls later in the catalogue by the back-up sires. Sons of Karoo D62 Docklands H182 have caught the attention of all who have inspected the bulls and they are giving the AI bulls a run for their money. Sons of Koojan Hills Admiral G182 and Koojan Hills Genesis H148 are also very appealing. 

We feel that there is a good selection of bulls suitable for heifers including four that have already been joined as yearlings. The bulls then range up to some impact, herd improving bulls. We will be conducting a Field Day on February 10th at 1-4pm.
